Nothing Like A Fajita Shabbat Dinner

My boyfriend told me he thought it was weird for me to blog about him.

So tonight I decided not to talk about him. Instead,  I’m going to talk about his roommate, Josh, whom is a good friend of mine.

He’s Jewish, like me, and quite entertaining to keep around.

Since it’s Thanksgiving weekend, and Jews don’t celebrate it, I invited him over tonight for a nice Shabbat dinner. [Shabbat is the Jewish Sabbath, which starts on Friday nights.] He’s from Vancouver and he can’t go home this weekend so  I wanted to make sure he had a nice home cooked meal [Side note: I visited him when I was in Van doing the campaign and got some cute pictures. I’ll probably talk the trip at some point soon]

So anyways, tonight I made awesome fajitas with salsa, guacamole, cheese, and spicy buffalo chicken.  I’m quite proud of myself. Josh brought the dessert that his Bubbie [Jewish grandmother] made for him which was chocolate cheesecake. It was awesome.

My roommate and her dog are gone for the weekend so the apartment is really quiet. It was nice to have someone to hang out with, and distract me from my homework, which I’m doing right now.

I get to write an essay on the semiotics and rhetoric found in an advertisement that I’ve chosen. Gotta love Media Studies.
