08 Oct Happy Turkey Weekend
Happy Turkey Weekend
Wishing all the Canadians out there a happy thanksgiving!
I’m slightly jealous of all the students who are going home to see the family. I have to stay at school and do homework. I have 3 assignments due next week and I need the weekend to do them. I never get anything done when I’m back home anyways, so I figured it would be best to stay here.
I’m celebrating thanksgiving with the library this weekend. Yay.
I have to, though, I know I do, because next week is going to be the most stressful weekend of my life!
Here’s some context:
I’m in a sorority called Alpha Gamma Delta and I am Vice President Recruitment. That means I’m in charge of something called “Formal Recruitment.” Formal Recruitment occurs over a weekend [this year the 17th-19th] of girls who are looking to join a sorority coming and visiting every chapter on campus and meeting the girls. After the weekend, the girls get placed in a sorority that they match up best with.
It is a weekend of 10 hour days of cleaning, decorating, yelling, laughing, screaming, dancing, etc all in the hopes of recruiting some awesome new girls.
Not only do we have the weekend but we have the entire week beforehand in which I get to teach the girls about the entire event, what to do, what they need, how to talk, etc. This happens every night until the weekend of Formal Recruitment.
I have everything due this week.
So pretty much, I’m staying at school to get alllllll of my work out of the way so I can focus on my sorority and make sure the weekend is done well.
So far, things seem to be on track. We got some sickkkk tshirts made [thanks to my boyfriend and his friend]
and I have ordered all the supplies we need…. I’m pretty on track.
Just need to make sure it stays this way!
That’s all for now. Don’t eat too much turkey
