03 Sep 23. Just Another Year Older.
It’s midnight here in Toronto, meaning it is now my 23rd birthday.
I think I’m really beginning to realize how quickly time goes by when you’re old. I feel like I just celebrated my 22nd birthday in New York City, when it’s already a year later and I’m back in my hometown with my whole life completely different than it was then. So much has gone by in the past year that I can’t believe it even happened.
There’s some old adage that says that the older you are the wiser you are and I think this year I’ve become much wiser than I was at age 22.
I have learned a lot this past year that has really impacted my life for the better. I’ve grown my academic knowledge, I’ve lived life in a city in a different country, I’ve experienced the beginnings of working life, and I’ve learned a lot from the people around me; both good and bad. I think this may have been one of those years that I’ve experienced more than I ever will in a mere 365 days. I’m grateful for the ability to do that.
Here’s to another year.
