Take a quick scan of the navigation bar on the website. Notice anything new?
We’ve added the “Buzz” page!
“What is the “Buzz” page?” you might be wondering.
Well, the “Buzz” page is a page that lists all of the articles that have been written about Uncover Ostomy since it’s inception! I’m hoping that by having this page, other media will not only see the credibility of this campaign, but it will illustrate the fact that there is a story to share, and that story is Uncover Ostomy.
We are an amazing community with a lot of awareness to spread and the media should take notice of us!
On that note, as you know I always say- we are not done yet! I urge you to share this page with your friends and family, as well as to share it with any journalists, public relations professionals, or anyone who has control of a medium that they can disseminate information to an audience.
We still have a long way to go to bring the ostomy into the main stream, but with your help, we are definitely getting there!

PS: If I’ve missed one that you know of, send a message to me through the Uncover Ostomy Facebook Page

Posted at 01:12h, 06 JuneI’m hoping to get What Not to Wear to do a show for people with ostomies. They’ve done it for pregnancy, so why not ostomies? Get us our of our sweat pants! I’m lucky enough to be a fashion designer and seamstress, so I can make my own clothes or alter them, but it would be great to get simple clothing tips out for people with ostomies as well as get some awareness about them. It’s not a death sentence– it’s a new chance at life!!

Posted at 18:59h, 12 JuneHi! I am new to the Ostomy, I had surgery in the fall to get the bag and then there were complications and I had to have another surgery this past spring to make it permenant because I was so sick and had lost so much weight that my doctors said this was the only option. I am so happy to have my life back and to finally be healthy again. I have no problem telling my close friends and family about everything because they have been with me through this whole journey and know how sick I was. The question I have for you is how do you tell a guy that you have an Ostomy? I recently started dating this guy and I know its time for me to tell him about the Ostomy but I don’t know how. I am scared of saying it in person and seeing his reaction but I know that I have to because then I can answer any questions he has. How do I do it with out scaring him away because I really like him. Any advice?
