Susan Sweeney does not have an ostomy herself but is a fierce advocate for ostomy surgery because of her husband J. and son Noah, who are both ostomates.

J. was given a Urostomy as a child to manage kidney damage and he is now in Stage 2 Kidney Disease. Noah was given a Cecostomy, for his Colonic Dysmotility.

Susan has made it her mission to spread positive ostomy awareness, not only to improve the lives of her family, but to improve the lives of everyone in the ostomy community.

Susan joined Uncover Ostomy as a contributor in October 2016 to share stories of her journey from the other side of the bag, as a wife and a mother to ostomates.
