Brandon Wilch has been an ostomate since 2006, after he was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease in 2004. After his diagnosis, Brandon’s condition quickly went downhill, and is only hope was surgery.

As a full-time firefighter and paramedic, Brandon has never been shy to talk about his ostomy. He continues to open up about his surgery whenever he gets the chance, which is often because of the circumstances of his job.

For Brandon, ostomy surgery meant life, not death.

Now, Brandon not only works long hours to keep his community safe, but he also spends time with his wife, Janeen, and his little boy William. He and Janeen love to dance, bike, camp, and kayak, and spend time with their beautiful son. Brandon joined Uncover Ostomy as a contributor in October 2016 to share his stories with us.
