Happy World Ostomy Day! …And A Few More Things..

Just want to wish a wonderful World Ostomy Day to everyone in Canada! I hope you are all sporting your ostomies!

I will be.

I would also like to take this time to comment on something that came up today on the Facebook page that kind of shocked me: someone questioned the validity of the pictures we’ve done and if my ostomy is real. Apparently I can’t possible look this good and not have scars [thanks haha].

Well I do, in fact, have an ostomy. I’ve had one since January 31st, 2003.

I was lucky enough to have my surgery at Sick Childrens Hospital in Toronto. With their sophistacted tools and machines I was able to have liproscopic surgery where no large incision was needed. They just made a small cut under my left rib, by my left hip bone, through my belly button, and then where my stoma is.

Now that I think of it I totally should have shown my scars off some more. Give me a bit, I’ll post a vid :]

HAPPY WOD <3
